The
5 Top Networking Tips
by Steve
J. Willet
1-
Know your audience
Each of these events cater to a different crowd. Make sure
you know a bit about the event and the audience it attracts.
You can be better prepared for how you will present your business
when you know the make-up of the crowd.
2-
Do Not Sell
This is the Golden Rule of networking. Everyone attending
these events want new clients, but they do not want to feel
like they are talking to an informercial. Most people do business
with those they trust, so establish that trust first.
3 - Personalize Your Story
In telling others about your business, put your passions into
play and personalize your story so that the audience can see
themselves as a part of your story. LISTEN to what they need
and add that to your description if it applies.
4
- Be An Asset
Get the person to feel comfortable in dealing with you. Let
them see you as the "go to " guy/girl for any resources
or referrals they may need. They in turn may be a resource
for you further down the road.
5
- Be Remembered
Make sure you stand out from the crowd. Be reliable, be pro-active,
but above all else, make sure the crowd remembers who you
are.
